Sowing seeds in the DR: Mini Church

By noah

PC030006PC030010Saturday December 5th 2009 – I got the privilege to start a weekly Bible Study or what my home church calls a “minichurch” with eight or so high school Christians. Most of them are from my morning English class and we decided to have the study at 7pm on Thursday nights. It is very interesting for me to see how they react to a American or maybe just a Hawaiian style Christian gathering. We worship using a computer playing Hillsong worship songs in Spanish. After we have a reading of passages in the Bible and then a discussion of what it means. Dominicans love having discussions and sometimes it gets really “passionate”. Afterwards we allow time for prayer and praise to the lord. Everyone prays for the person on the left and we ask the lord for healings, provision, and grace through repentance. It is really fun to just hang out with them afterward by playing the drums and making music (or noise) of our own. PC030017
